Happiest Workplace Award

29th November 2019

Medvivo Group receives National Happiest Workplace Award following investment in staff professional and personal wellbeing.

Medvivo runs the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) contract for Swindon, Wiltshire and Bath and North East Somerset, which brings together NHS 111 and Clinical Assessment with local GP Out of Hours services. In addition to this, Medvivo also operates Access to Care, Telecare and Response services, supporting the local community in terms of patient care and access to healthcare services.

The services operate all day, every day of the year, and while the Head Office is based in Chippenham, staff also work from other locations across the area.

HR Director, Nicky Wood, said: “Back in 2016 we started on a journey which would involve significant growth and change in our business. We knew we had to invest in our business and people to ensure positive outcomes.

Since then we have put a range of actions and activities in place to build and maintain a positive, engaging and resilient workforce. The outcome of which is reflected in the fact we won the Integrated Urgent Care contract, more than doubling the area we originally covered and the number of staff working here.

For an organisation which prides itself on putting patients at the heart of everything we do, creating a happy place to work is just as important. Our work relies on us to look after others, to do this we must ensure we are looking after ourselves.”

Medvivo has a Health and Wellbeing Taskforce with representatives from across the business. This team works on a range of activities to engage with staff and deliver a happier workplace.

Among the activities, Medvivo has brought pets as therapy to work, created a workplace garden, delivered stress management and mindfulness workshops, distributed health and wellbeing toolkits to remote workers, hosted a range of cake, bake and soup sales, and supported a number of charity events both in terms of health awareness and fundraising.

Nicky adds: “I am so very proud of our team at Medvivo. Our teams work hard to look after people who come into our care, and this is reflected in our two consecutive “outstanding” CQC ratings from the Care Quality Commission. Now we have a Happiness Award, which shows our commitment to looking after our own people as well.”
